Self Gloss:
Only two words can describe my
softball skillz: "UTILITY & MAN" I suppose I
can play any position on the field. Although my
pitching is questionable and Im not necessarily an
ideal 1B (don't throw too high!). I would prefer to
play INF cause I don't have to run so much,
especially at 2B, but I do enjoy playing the OF as
long as the other team doesnt hit the ball to me.
As far as the hitting goes nobody will ever confuse
me with a big power hitter, but I just try and hit
above .600 and be on base for the top of the lineup
and score lots of runs. When needed I can sack up
and hit a fly ball deep enough for a Sac Fly. Every
HR I have ever hit (all 3 of them) has been a line
drive over the drawn in RF or a line drive that the
LF lets go over his head, but hey, who's counting?
I guess my best asset is my speed, but that doesnt
mean much if I cant get on or if I cant steal
bases. I do have the oft-talked about, not often
seen, "intangibles". I am a winner. Jeff
Brown and I have led our softball to the
last 2 IFC and IM championships at UCLA (currently
ranked # IMs in the nation by SI). So we are
obviously the best IM team in the nation by that
(arguably faulty) logic. You can all shake our
hands at the next game for that huge feat. Other
special skills: Am a "good guy" (as dubbed by
Romero himself), and can keep a spotless scorebook
but I refuse to give people hits on errors
(sorry).
Personal Notes:
Farias is a throw back to the old
school days. A gritty hard nosed player willing to
get his jersey dirty for the win. He's a gutty
player with a boat lload of potential. He currently
is attending UCLA graduate school in the
Engineering department. He wants to design freeways
and toilets one day. One of his downsides is the
fact this man owns no car. Dammit. He is a NoCal
native, and is a die-hard 49ers and Athletics fan.
He enjoys the bowling. He once knew a man from
Nantucket. Lastly, he hopes one day to be reunited
on the field with his good friend W. He does not
own any Jim Barr "Hey Lady, Sup?" gear.
Madden Cruiser
Highlights:Pinch ran for Dan
Romero in loser's bracket finals of ASA' gloves
tournament. Scored a run. Also kept a spotless
scorebook.
